AIRLIFT: The Sleep Apnea Solution That Works For Everyone, and Works All the Time

If you have OSA, the AIRLIFT® hyoid suspension procedure is an option without AHI or BMI limits that requires nothing from you in order to keep working night after night after night. It’s a minimally invasive treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). By repositioning the hyoid bone located in the front of the neck and opening and stabilizing the airway, AIRLIFT makes it easier to breathe when sleeping.

Criteria for AIRLIFT Hyoid Suspension

If you meet any of the following criteria, you might be a candidate for AIRLIFT.

  • Tongue-based or epiglottic airway obstruction. Before considering AIRLIFT or any other sleep apnea treatment or procedure, consult with a sleep specialist to understand your airway obstruction pattern. AIRLIFT specifically targets tongue-based and epiglottic obstruction, so make sure to find out if that’s your primary issue.
  • Difficulties with CPAP due to the high pressure level delivered by the machine. Some sleep apnea patients require higher CPAP pressure settings to prevent their airways from collapsing. You may be sensitive to this high pressure if you experience difficulty exhaling with the CPAP, dry mouth or nasal passages, claustrophobia, a feeling of being “forced” to breathe, or inadvertently swallowing air during sleep (making you feel bloated).
  • CPAP only works for you in conjunction with other adjustments. For example, if CPAP only works when you sleep in a specific position, use an oral appliance, or use supplemental oxygen, you may be a good candidate for AIRLIFT.
  • You don’t qualify for a hypoglossal nerve stimulation implant. If you don’t meet certain BMI requirements or have complete concentric collapse of the soft palate, you might not qualify for HNS, the procedure behind Inspire.1, 2

The Sleep Apnea Procedure with 100% Compliance

With no Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI) or BMI restrictions or requirements, AIRLIFT is available to almost all who suffer from sleep apnea. Its maintenance-free design means 100% compliance is guaranteed – patients don’t need to fiddle with a machine, mask, remote, or app after the procedure or at night. In addition, AIRLIFT does not require follow-up visits for adjustments, and it works in conjunction with other upper airway sleep apnea procedures if needed. This flexibility and accessibility make AIRLIFT a stress-free sleep apnea management that works for everyone, and works all the time.

Most insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid also cover AIRLIFT, making it an affordable option for treating OSA.

Reach out to your doctor or find an AIRLIFT provider near you if you struggle with your current sleep apnea treatment and think AIRLIFT could provide relief.
